TADJIKISTAN
Informational campaign for NGOs and the media
An ecological organization “Radi Zemli” (For the Earth), serving as project
coordinator for Tadjikistan, developed informational packages for several NGO
resource centers, ecological organizations and media agencies operating in
Dushanbe, Kulyab, Khorog and Khudzhand.
Information regarding persistent organic pollutants was published in electronic
newsletters For the Earth! (published and distributed among local and
international non-governmental organizations, Tadjikistan’s environmental
protection agencies and state bodies).
50 informational packages were distributed among resource centers, NGOs and
civil society support centers in Dushanbe, Kulyab, Khorog and Khudzhand, as well
as among ecological organizations and the media. Several packages were delivered
to state environmental protection bodies. Resource centers and civil society
support centers ensured free access to information. In the framework of the informational campaign “Asia Plus” and “Sadoi Dushanbe”
radio stations aired series of radio programs broadcasted throughout the nation.
All available information related to persistent organic pollutants was copied to
floppy discs and distributed among participants of the first National conference
of public ecological organizations (under the working title EcoForum) organized
on October 3-5 in Dushanbe.
